Gambia’s Vice President, Isatou Njie Saidy resigns.

Gambia's Vice President, Isatou Njie Saidy, has resigned.

Saidy left President Yahya Jammeh, 24 hours to the due date issued to him by African pioneers to hand over to opposition leader, Adama Barrow.

The advancement is coming same day the Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science, Technology and Religious Affairs, Abubacar Senghore, deserted Jammeh. He is the eighth bureau member to leave.

Prior, Nigerian soldiers and a Nigerian warship were sent to the Gambia to end the 22-year old government of President Jammeh who lost the December 1 race yet has promised not to hand over power today when his term runs out.

Jammeh, who was vanquished by Adama Barrow, initially surrendered but later changed his mind referring to abnormalities. He has since tested the outcomes in court yet has endured a few misfortunes.

Nigerian leader, Muhammadu Buhari was named chief mediator in the Gambia by ECOWAS yet all endeavors to persuade Jammeh to leave control calmly in the wake of 22 prolonged years fizzled.
